2022 Volkswagen Taos vs 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan

Serving Milwaukee, WI

The Volkswagen Taos is a new addition to our crossover lineup at Volkswagen Milwaukee North for the 2022 model year. Like the popular Tiguan, the Taos is a compact crossover SUV. Despite this initial similarity, however, these models have unique traits that define their individuality. After you get to know about their many differences, will you choose the 2022 Taos or the 2021 Tiguan as your next crossover?

Performance

The turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the 2022 Taos produces 158 horsepower. This model’s capabilities are elevated by an all-wheel drive drivetrain that is standard throughout the trim line. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan features a turbocharged engine, which delivers 184 horsepower. All-wheel drive, several driving modes, and an eight-speed auto transmission are standard items.

Appearance

You can easily spot familiar Volkswagen traits across the exterior of the Taos, and many of these features trend throughout the Tiguan exterior as well. Both vehicles, for example, have an expansive grille with horizontal bars, integrated headlights, and raised roof rails. Comparatively, the Taos grille has a more open feel, and the headlights have dual LED elements. The lower-front fascia has metallic accents, and the sides are deeply chiseled. The 2021 Tiguan, on the other hand, has metallic accents on the lower side panels. The sides are modestly defined, with long, lean lines running horizontally to the rear.

Features

While the Taos and the Tiguan have unique center console designs, these vehicles share many of the same features. For example, they both have a sunroof, a digital cockpit display screen, a navigation system, an auto climate control system, heated seats, EyeSight tech, remote vehicle connectivity, and other features in some or all of their trims.
