Both SUVs provide plenty of room for up to five passengers. You’ll have standard heated front seats and automatic climate control including a dual-zone system in the ID.4. The Tiguan offers an optional upgrade to a three-zone system as well as available heated rear outboard seats.

Powertrain Options
The Tiguan is equipped with a turbo-four engine that gets 201 horsepower, while the ID.4 offers a choice of three powertrains. The base model gets 201 hp with a single electric motor, with a range of up to 206 miles on a fully charged battery. The midrange option boosts the battery size to provide 282 hp and a 291-mile driving range.
A dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain at the top of the lineup includes the larger battery with a second electric motor. This model delivers 330 horsepower and gives you of a range of up to 263 miles.
Handling and Performance
The Tiguan includes standard 18-inch wheels with optional 19-inch and 20-inch styles. You’ll have standard 19-inch wheels and available 20-inch options with the ID.4. Both the ID.4 and the Tiguan come with standard front-wheel or optional all-wheel drive. The latter has an eight-speed automatic while the electric SUV incorporates a single-speed automatic.
Infotainment Tech
Both vehicles feature a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with a 5.2-inch driver gauge in the ID.4 and a 10.3-inch digital gauge in the Tiguan. In either SUV, you’ll have standard wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Tiguan is available with a 15-inch version of the infotainment screen. You can add a nine-speaker Harman Kardon stereo to the ID.4 and a 12-speaker system to the Tiguan.
Driver Assistance
These SUVs share standard forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, parking assistance, and forward automatic emergency braking. The Tiguan adds standard level 2 semi-automated operation with Travel Assist. You can also upgrade this model with an optional head-up display to see important info on your windshield.
