If you’re eyeing a hatchback, sedan, or SUV at our Volkswagen dealership, you’re in for a treat. The 2025 VW models come with a ton of great features and safety tech. Take a look at some of the safety features available in most of the 2025 models.
1. Front Assist
The Volkswagen front assist system comes standard in most 2025 models. It uses radar sensors and a camera to alert you when there’s potential for a frontal crash. If the distance between you and the vehicle ahead is too close, an alert chimes on the dashboard, warning you to slow down.
When autonomous emergency braking is active, front assist will apply the brakes to slow down the vehicle and prevent a crash. Some models also add pedestrian and cyclist monitoring systems. These help you avoid hitting pedestrians or cyclists on the road.
2. Lane Assist
Lane assist keeps you from drifting out of your lane when driving on roads with visible markings. It uses cameras to note the vehicle’s position in the lane and alerts you when you start veering off the lane. The system can even make subtle steering adjustments to nudge you back into your lane.
3. Lane Change System Side Assist
The lane change system side assist comes in handy when switching lanes on the highway. If you indicate to change lanes and there’s a vehicle in your blind spot, a warning light flashes on the side mirror. This feature will also alert you if a vehicle is closing in fast on the lane you’re trying to switch to.
4. Active Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert
The active blind spot monitor lets you know when there is a vehicle in your blind spot. It can intervene with steering adjustments to help avoid a collision. The available rear traffic alert system will warn you if another vehicle is crossing your path as you reverse out of a parking spot. If you don’t slow down, the system will apply the brakes automatically.
5. Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive cruise control helps you maintain a pre-set speed and distance from the car ahead of you. It saves you from constantly braking and accelerating, especially on long drives or in traffic. If the car ahead stops, adaptive cruise control will bring your VW to a stop and resume speed once the car starts moving again.
6. Light Assist
The VW light assist system automatically switches between low and high beams to help you drive safely at night. When you pass through a poorly lit road, the system turns on high beams to help you see the road properly. If there’s an oncoming vehicle, it switches to low beams to avoid blinding the driver.
